Rising star of motorsport sponsored by automotive cooling and drives specialist

ebmpapst Automotive & Drives is sponsoring a potential future star of motor racing in the form of Tim Spencer. As well as being a winning kart driver, 17-year-old Tim has just been taken on as an apprentice vehicle technician with the Red Bull F1 team.

Tim has been driving karts since he was nine, and has been preparing and racing them since the age of twelve. He is now competing in his first season in the ‘Senior Rotax Max’ class that uses 2-stroke, 125cc karts developing 28bhp. The karts are capable of reaching 70mph even on short circuits. Fast Tim’s first podium place in the category was a recent third at Whilton Mill.

Tim is the son of Phil Spencer, former Chief Race Team Mechanic with the Jordan F1 racing team who also used our fans in their cars and electronic cooling systems. So there’s great synergy and lots of interesting links.”
