Sensor blower accurately monitors vehicle climate control systems for greater comfort
ebm-papst Automotive & Drives (UK) Ltd has introduced a sensor blower that samples air temperature in the passenger compartment of a vehicle for automatic climate control. Part of ebm-papst's wider climate control sensors range, the S2000 provides tight control of temperature, offering greatly improved passenger comfort and safer motoring.
As a modular concept unit, the versatile S2000 can be fitted in roof lamps, compartments, climate control units, or alternatively in a stand-alone position i.e. anywhere in the cabin. In use, the S2000 draws in air from the vehicle cabin, the temperature of which is used as a control signal for the climate control system to adjust heating or air-conditioning to meet the desired temperature. As such, the feedback system employed ensures very close control of temperature.
ebm-papst's S2000 sensor blower is more compact and has more configurations than units from other manufacturers. The unit features a unique winding/magnet construction that ensures any possibility of stall is eliminated.
Helping vehicle designers achieve 'simplicity without complexity' the units feature a compact design measuring just 33mm diameter by 41mm in length that will fit into very small gaps and spaces. 12V DC versions are standard, 24V versions are available upon request, and an electronic version with built in drive electronics - the S2000E - is also available. All units have optional integrated NTC temperature sensor availability.
