Automotive focus heralds new appointments for cooling and drives specialist

ebm-papst Automotive & Drives has made two appointments as part of its drive and focus on the automotive market. Both appointments are in the commercial side of the business, reflecting the company's strategy to rapidly develop business in this growing market.

Joining as Business Development Manager is Mark Wilson. Previously Business Manager with ETA, Wilson's role at ebm-papst Automotive & Drives is to maximise and deliver new business opportunities throughout the UK Automotive Industry, as well as managing existing designated accounts. A qualified engineer, Wilson has internal and external sales experience with technology led products and OEMs. Significantly, he has experience working in Germany - the home of parent company ebm-papst.

Patrick Sherry joins ebm-papst Automotive & Drives in the role of Logistics Manager. Formerly with Pfannenberg (UK), Sherry's role is to ensure the supply of materials and services to support sales and the day to day business of EPAD. In a homecoming, Sherry worked for ebm-papst 15 years ago as Field Sales Manager, and has since worked in the enclosures field for Optima and Eurocraft. He is a qualified electro-mechanical design draughtsman.

ebm-papst develops and produces components for a wide variety of automotive applications including air conditioning, electronic cooling, seat air-conditioning and auxiliary drives. Companies operating in the automotive sector can benefit from ebm-papst's expertise and products that add value and appeal to a wide range of vehicles.

Specific areas in which ebm-papst products can be integrated into vehicles are sensor fans for climate control, standard and upgraded fans for engine management, miniature fans for in-car entertainment and navigation systems, and electronically and mechanically commutated motor systems for a variety of applications such as active steering, auxiliary drives, servo drives, and x by wire functions. But the number of potential applications for ebm-papst is much bigger - up to sixty applications have been identified for one manufacturer alone.
